My Story

Welcome to L’attesa — a space rooted in the belief that the most meaningful things are worth waiting for.

I’m Julia. Starting a vintage and antique business wasn’t part of any long-term plan I ever made. In fact, it wasn’t a plan at all — just something that unfolded slowly, the way good things often do.

I was trained as a middle school special education teacher before becoming a stay-at-home mother, and for a long time I assumed that chapter had quietly closed. Still, I found myself craving a creative outlet — something tactile, thoughtful, and entirely my own — during long days shaped around small children and evenings spent waiting for my husband to come home from the operating room.

Somewhere between pushing a double stroller through antique shops and lingering too long over objects that caught my eye, L’attesa took shape.

I’ve always been drawn to old things — not just for how they look, but for what they carry. I’m fascinated by the hands that once held them, the rooms they lived in, the rituals they belonged to. With deep pride in my Italian and Argentinian heritage, I’m naturally pulled toward European pieces, though I also love moments of color and vibrancy, which the Rose Canton palette demonstrates so wonderfully.

My hope is to offer objects that enrich your everyday life — pieces that catch the light just so, invite your hand to linger, and make you pause long enough to wonder about where they’ve been before finding their way to you.

I’m always sourcing and always curious, and I’m happy to take personal requests. If you’re searching for something specific, let’s talk. You never know what might appear while I’m out in the wild.

Thank you for being here — and for embracing the beauty of the wait.
